INSTRUCTIONS FOR USE
PREVENT can be used both preventively against muck and sour beam, but also in case of outbreaks. If your horse is hit by mud fever or thrush, you can use the product on the affected area once a day until the desired result is achieved.
If you use the product preventively, follow the procedure below.
Prevention: Wash the horse’s legs and hooves so that they are clean and free of mud and soil. Apply the product on particularly exposed areas, especially around the code and in the beam where soft and acidic rays often propagate. Apply PREVENT in a good layer. If you use too little, you risk that the product does not have enough absorbency to absorb all the moisture, thereby preventing the product from creating a dry environment.
Let the product sit and work until it falls off itself. It is recommended that the horse is placed in a dry box after application, if necessary. overnight.
Repeat the process 3 times a week, to ensure the best possible prevention against soft and acidic rays.

PREVENT has bactericidal properties and is highly moisture-absorbing, which creates an environment where bacteria and mites do not thrive.
HOW DOES MUD FEVER AND THRUSH PRODUCE?
In Denmark, we have long periods of moisture and mud on the folds. This means that the horses frequently experience irritated and sensitive skin, especially around the code. The irritation comes from the bacteria and mites that live in the mud. In some cases, these bacteria and mites will propagate in the skin, forming what is commonly referred to as mud fever.
The moisture, mites and bacteria also affect the hooves and help to provoke an acid ray, which is a decay of the ray horn in the ray.
Both conditions can cause soreness and lameness.

WHY PREVENT AGAINST MUD FEVER AND THRUSH?
PREVENT is a Danish-produced product, which at present is one of the only powder-based products on the market. PREVENT is particularly suitable for the prevention of mud fever, thrush and other bacterial and fungal-like conditions.
The advantage of choosing a powder product versus an ointment or a liquid is that the powder dries out and draws moisture out of the area, creating an environment where bacteria and mites do not thrive.
With PREVENT, you ensure long-term drying of the area, which creates an environment where bacteria and mites do not thrive.
TREATMENT OF MUD FEVER AND THRUSH
There is no such thing as horse owners stuffing their horses to get mud fever or thrush to life. Everything from Atamon, which is made for preserving food to brown soap or other cleaning products.
One of the most well-known treatment methods for muk in horses is Zinc, which boosts the immune system in both humans and animals. In addition, it can have beneficial effects on wound healing.
Whether you use one of the above treatment methods or a completely different one, what they all have in common is that they add moisture, moisture and moisture again to the affected area. Mud fever and thrush, as is often the case, only a problem in wet humid periods, as fungi, mites and bacteria require a humid environment to thrive and develop.
With our unique product PREVENT, you instead create a dry environment where bacteria and mites do not thrive, thereby eliminating the cause of the problem instead of fighting it. Natural and effective, and without burning and pain for the horse!
MUD FEVER ON THE HORSE’S LEGS AND IN THE HORSE’S CODES
Mud fever often propagates on her legs and in the codes, where the skin is extra thin and vulnerable. In humid and wet periods with a lot of mud on the fold, the horse’s skin is extra worn by the grains of sand, as well as dissolved by the water. This makes the skin more vulnerable and susceptible to bacteria attack.
THE FIRST SIGNS OF MUD FEVER IN HORSES
The first signs of mud fever are seen as something resembling scabs that form on top of the horse’s skin. In addition, the horse’s legs may turn red and swell. Red legs are often most clearly seen in horses with white legs, or horses with markings. The area can often be tender and irritated, and one must therefore be careful when touching the area.
HOW TO DISCOVER SOUR RAY IN YOUR HORSE
Acid ray can, as the name suggests, be recognized by an acidic odor that comes from the horse’s hoof, more precisely the ray. The beam turns black and dissolves. In many cases, the horse will become unclean walking due to pain from the hoof. Acid jet should be taken seriously as otherwise the horse may develop infection and hoof ulcers.
PREVENT has shown beneficial effect on acid beam.
